Laffey-McHugh Funds Outreach

Funding to support outreach for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Delaware

The Laffey-McHugh Foundation has generously awarded The Arc of Delaware $20,000 in support of its Outreach Program. The Outreach Program links individuals and families to services and supports and attempts to bridge gaps in service delivery to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Persons with I/DD and their families often have no idea where to begin when it comes to accessing services for which they may qualify, and Outreach Coordinators at The Arc assist them as they navigate systems. The program is available to all the approximately 25,000 people in Delaware with I/DD.

The Laffey-McHugh Foundation, based in Wilmington, has supported The Arc of Delaware in the past for a variety of projects that have helped the organization improve, stabilize and enrich the lives of some of the most economically disadvantaged and segregated of American Citizens.
